These are annoying Google Calendar Reminders that take over your computer screen and you aren't able to continue on the browser until you dismiss it by pressing "OK".

To disable the Interruptive Calendar Reminders follow the steps below:

  1. Open Google Calendar on your computer.
  2. In the top right, click Settings Settings > Settings
  3. Scroll down to the section called "Notifications" and select "Use browser notifications instead of interruptive alerts"

And, you're done! :) You will no longer receive annoying pop-ups from Google that take over your screen.

But I still want to be alerted by less annoying pop-ups! Yes, you still can have that done. To enable less-annoying, browser notifications. Follow the following steps: (note this only works if you are using Google Chrome)
  1. Open Google Calendar on your computer.
  2. In the top right, click Settings Settings > Settings.
  3. At the top of the page, click the Calendars tab.
  4. Next to your calendar's name, click Edit notifications.
  5. Click Add notification or edit an existing notification.
  6. At the bottom of the page, click Save.
When you return to your calendar you should see:

Select "Allow" so that you can begin seeing the notifications.
